Blog 3 – Tour of the Dragon Update, 4 weeks to go

Following on from previous blogs, with just over 4 weeks left until race day on the 6th September, James has been busy training with some long rides out in the Shropshire hills. Not quite the Himalayas but still plenty of miles and ascents under his belt training combined with still competed on his road bike. This Video Blog focuses on his training to date focusing on distance, before swapping his road bike for his mountain bike to prepare for the riding required for the Tour Of The Dragon.

Race entry is confirmed and entry visas and itinerary are all organised as the event is rapidly approaching. This week will see the new bike being built for him to ride, apparel being printed up and a lot of planning with regards to the logistics of the race and that required for travelling in the Himalayas.

Our next blog will focus on this part of the race – the behind the scenes preparation in the UK including kit, food, diet, clothing, and hydration, all essential considerations for such a massive undertaking.

Don’t forget that James is also raising money for Spinal research and this is a massive part of his motivation to complete the race. Any support to this charity is a massive boost to him too!

Keep following us, share our facebook and retweet on twitter, as it would be great to get as much support as possible for the first UK rider entering the hardest one day mountain bike race in the world!
