As a BCU approved centre, Live the Adventure offers everything from a two hour recreational taster session on our centre lake, through to river trips and personal paddlesport tuition & coaching.

BC 3 Star Award White Water Kayak Course
BC 3 Star Award White Water Kayak Course
Successful performance at this level indicates that the paddler can consider themselves an intermediate paddler, as they can now paddle on moving waters. They can do this in a competent manner as part of a led group and have the knowledge and ability to help the smooth running of a trip while being led down a section of a grade 2 river.

Successful performance at this level indicates that a candidate can consider themselves as an intermediate canoe paddler rather than a beginner. The candidate having demonstrated personal competence in paddling open water in wind conditions of force 2-3 and on simple moving water as part of a led group.

BC/UKCC Level 1 Coach Award
This is the first step on the paddlesport coaching pathway. It will introduce you to the fundamentals of good coaching practice and helps you to understand and coach technical and tactical aspects of your sport. As a level 1 coach you can deliver sessions in kayaks and canoes.

This is the second step on the paddlesport coaching pathway. It focuses on progressive coaching, helping you to develop your canoeing / kayaking students within their first 3 years of paddling, through a series of sessions. This runs as a 4 day training course with a separate assessment.

The Whitewater Rescue Technician Course (WRT-REC) is a new course for recreational paddlers who wish to have a rescue capability whilst paddling or in a whitewater environment with their peers, e.g. kayak club members, informal non-paying paddlers completing a river trip.

From beginners to advanced white water training we would love to help you enjoy kayaking and /or canoeing more and take your skills to a new level. This coaching can be tailored to suit your individual needs as a paddler and can be operated throughout the UK or from our adventure centre in Shropshire and on local rivers such as the River Severn and the River Teme.
