As part of our ongoing support since the devastating earthquake in Nepal in April 2015, the Nepal Appeal Charity was established and went on to raise over £60,000 to support the rebuilding of homes and schools in rural communities in some of the worst affected regions.
By the end of 2016 the Charity had built a number of homes, supplied a number of water supplies to comminuties and completed the rebuild of three schools in one of the most effected areas.
The trip being run by Live The Adventure in April 2018, trip will support the long term development of the 3 schools, assisting to provide better resources and standards of education. The aim of this trip is to visit the schools and assist the pupils, teachers and community where most needed. The week will be based at a stunning riverside resort with permanent camp style accommodation close to the school project sites. From here we will go out each day accompanied by Charity volunteers to work with the local community, families and children directly helping them. Whether you are a skilled labourer, just happy to use a paintbrush or want to work with the school children themselves, the rewards for the time spent in the community will provide life long memories and a bond with a nation of such welcoming people.
Once we have finished the project work at the schools we then spent time exploring this stunning Himalayan country and some of its many highlights. During the second week of this trip, the Live The Adventure team will guide you in a multi adventure experience across to the Annapurna region where you get to immerse yourself in the culture, colour, scenery and adventure that Nepal is famous for.
We fly directly to Nepal’s second city Pokhara to start a 5 day trek in the Annapurna region of the Himalayas. Using porters each day to assist with our loads and staying in lodges in the rural communities each evening, our day times are spent trekking through the rhododenron forests, across rice fields to view points of the Himalayas. The high point of this trek is an early morning ascent of Poon Hill at 3100m to watch the sun rise over the majestic Himalayas. We then descend to complete the trek and make our way back to Pokhara for a rest and time to explore this lake side second city of Nepal.
The following day we depart from Pokhara to start our two day rafting adventure along the Seti river. Over the 2 days we head south through remote villages, along stunning scenery and viewing an abundance of wildlife and spend a night camped out on one of the many pristine riverside sandy beaches.
On completion of the river trip we then transfer to our Safari lodge at Chitwan national Park for the start of our Safari experience. Spending two night here give us the opportunity to immerse ourselves in a different part of Nepal – the jungle! Over the 2 days you will get the opportunity to see crocodiles from dug out canoes, walk through the raw nature of the flora and fauna, and view Rhinos from the back of an elephant!
On the last morning we complete our safari experience and then transfer for an internal flight back to Kathmandu for our last night and time for last minute souvenir shopping.

After breakfast there will be time to relax around camp and raft a fantastic section of the upper Sun Kosi River and back in time for lunch.
After lunch we will say final goodbyes to the children and teachers and drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to our hotel (B&B basis).
This trip will involve some rewarding physical work, combined with some adventure and excitement, and will require you to work in some poor communities. We have tried to time to keep all expenses down for each person and put more into funding the work. It is by no means a luxury holiday, but certainly will be a trip with memories of a lifetime.
We start our adventure by taking a 30 minute mountain flight to Pokhara Nepal’s beautiful lakeside town under the Annapurna range of the Himalayas. From the airport we will drive to Nayapul, the start of the trek, at this point we will meet our guides and team of porters who will be joining us on our trek. The Annapurna trek starts from the last road point and heads up through Bamboo forests and waterfalls into terraced farmland up to Tirkhedunga (1800m) which is around a 4 hour walk. Here we will spend the night in a Tea House.
From Tirkhedunga we continue our trek by walking up to Ghorepani (2800 m). The first half hour is on a flat trail and then there is a steep ascent for around 2 hours to Ulleri. Here we will stop for a lunch break and then walk gradually up to Ghorepani through stunning rhododendron forests You We will spend the evening in a tea house at Ghorepani with fantastic panoramic views of the Annapurnas.
An early morning excursion to Poon Hill (3193 m), about an hour’s climb, provides an even better, unobstructed view of the high Himalaya at sunrise. We then walk back down for breakfast. After breakfast we head to Tadapani. The trail climbs up, leaving the high mountain forests and entering a field of cane. The morning still has fantastic 360° panoramic views from high vantage points before the trail descends steeply to a stream before climbing again through forests to Tadapani, a cluster of hotels with a dramatic view at 2540m.
Wake up for breakfast with another stunning morning view! The trail descends steeply from Tadapani, through forests, a short and steep descent among rocks which leads us to a stream crossing, and then the descent continues gently past other streams, finally leading out on a ridge towards Ghandrung. Ghandrung is a a huge Gurung village at 1940m, is the second-largest Gurung village in Nepal. From here you can get the views of Annapurna South and Machapuchare during our lunch stop. Continue down to Syauli Bajar and our lodge for the night on the banks of the Modi Kola River.
From Syauli Bazar we trek to Birenthanti for around 2 hours in the morning to meet transportation back to Pokhara for lunch. Afternoon at leisure, with time to do site seeing our chill out in one of the many lakeside garden restaurants.
After an early morning breakfast we depart Pokhara to start our 2 day raft trip on the Seti River. We will descend toward southern Nepal passing through remote villages and stunning scenery to our evening camp, on the sandy beach, on the side of the River.
Head back down the River with a mixture of flat water and fun filled rapids until we meet our exit point, from there we will transfer by vehicle to Chitwan National Park and the start of our Safari experience. The next 2 nights will be spent at the Safari lodge in the national park.
A full day of activities in the national park with opportunities to see crocodiles from dug out canoes, walk through the raw nature of the flora and fauna, and view Rhinos from the back of an elephant!
