Nepal SUP Expedition from Live The Adventure on Vimeo.

The ultimate Stand Up Paddle Board expedition has to be this this 11 day adventure in the Himalayas. Live The Adventure put together the worlds first multi day SUP expedition on the Kali Gandaki in Nepal in 2017 for  Water Skills Academy and due to its success and popular demand, we are offering you the amazing opportunity to join us in 2018 to repeat the trip . This trip of a lifetime has access to parts of the planet rarely seen by western eyes, and unique to our 2018 expedition is the chance to paddle from the Himalayas along the Kali Gandaki river to the jungle terai region as we finish with a relaxing safari experience.

This itinerary takes us through amazing scenery, past remote villages and into deep gorges, as we descend one of the most stunning rivers in Nepal. The river takes the form of long flat sections interspersed with short faster sections of up to class 2 water, with one rapid that we portage and carry around. Its ideally suited for those with some SUP river experience, and due to its deep clean water allows participants the options to challenge themselves to stand, kneel or even jump on the raft support that will be carrying our expedition supplies.

The whole journey is based on group participation where we encourage all those accompanying us to immerse themselves on a multi day expedition by participating as part of the team to ensure a successful and rewarding experience from start to finish.

This trip has been developed especially for ‘Water Skills Academy (WSA)’ customers and clients, and will be escorted by Live the Adventure Director, Anthony, who has over 25 years guiding experience in the Himalayas, providing the full trip support and logistics on and off the water. In addition to this the WSA team of SUP trainers and coaches will be paddling alongside you looking after your SUP experiences on the water.

There will be the opportunity to attend a pre trip meet for those booked onto the trip offering you a chance to meet the team, see a presentation on the trip and have a paddle together! (details and dates to be confirmed)

Flying in and out of Nepal through its capital, Kathmandu, we have a night each end of the trip to take in the vibrant culture and surroundings of this amazing city.

This river expedition is based out of Pokhara, Nepal’s second city, set alongside Fewa Lake under the gaze of the 8000m Annapurna mountain range. Based at a hotel there for one night at the beginning of the trip allows us a warm up day on the lake with a stunning Himalayan backdrop.

Departing Pokhara we then start our 6-day, 128km, journey that takes us through the remote villages and scenery of western Nepal as the river descends from the heart of the Annapurna region of the Himalayas towards the terra region and India in the south. It offers the unique opportunity to immerse yourself in local culture, see an abundance of wildlife and spend our evenings camped out on the sandy beaches alongside the river.

Our last camp is close to the take out of the river, and after an early start, we get to the take out and pack our transport before heading to Chitwan National Park in time for lunch. The next 2 nights will be spent at our safari lodge, with the opportunity to take part in guided nature walks, ride on elephant safari’s, view crocodiles and Rhinos or just chill out and take in the scenery!

After a sunrise elephant safari on our last day, we then take an internal flight back to Kathmandu for our last evening before our international flights home.

Guided by some of the most experienced expedition leaders and SUP coaches in the world, the combination of culture, scenery and world class water makes it an expedition paradise.
